LADY EAGLES IN THE NEWS!

Ashlee Cunningham has been recognized as one of the top players in the area.  The Daily Herald ALL-AREA team has come out today and Ashlee is the first Lakes player to win this award.  Ashlee has not only been a great player on the floor but has also been a great leader off the floor.  Ashlee has never missed a practice, played a little hurt or sick sometimes, and has been very consistent.  It was with great pleasure to talk about Ashlee with everyone and anyone as she was being considered for this great award.  Ashlee's willingness to help direct the team by always understanding and doing what is best for the team, even if it meant doing something unpopular was notable many times.  She was there to offer help for her teammates constantly.  She is in great company as there are many very talented players listed as ALL-AREA players.  Ashlee wants to play basketball at college next year. Currently Carthage is one school that Ashlee is considering to taking her skills to.
Terese McMahon was given an honorable mention for the ALL-AREA team.  This is a great recognition for Terese's accomplishments this past season,  Terese continues to improve and work on her game, and I expect to see her representing Lakes next year for ALL-AREA There are many great players to choose from in the area and to be considered and mentioned in this company is great.
Congratulations to Ashlee and Terese

Congratulations on being All-Academic IHSA

The Lakes Varsity Women's Basketball team has again been named as an IHSA All Academic member for 2011-12.
The Varsity has no less than a 3.0 Average GPA for the season. I am very proud of the ladies for being able to excel at their studies while still being able to play and compete on the court.
Great Job Ladies!!!
North Suburban All Conference Selections
Congratulations to Ashlee Cunningham and Terese McMahon on being selected as All conference players.  Both Ashlee and Terese were voted in by the coaches of the North Suburban Conference as All Conference selections.
Ashlee and Terese have worked hard to achieve e success on the court, and it is great to see them recognized by opposing coaches for their abilities.
Congratulations Ashlee and Terese.

Great trip Downstate!!
7 players and Coach Christi Schneider and Pete Schneider traveled to Redbird Arena in Normal Illinois to watch the State finals.  We were able to see some great basketball teams participate.  I believe that Regional and Sectional and yes even playing at Redbird Arena is within the reach of Lakes.  Seeing the possibility and experiencing the fans of Vernon Hills and others was fun.
Of course with all of our trips there was some time for some games.  Despite some creative clue giving the team of Coach Schneider/Schneider are still undefeated at Catch Phrase.  Great to see the ladies helping and working with each other.  Seeing them just hanging out and getting to know each other outside of basketball is always great to witness.

Cell Phone Policy PDF Print E-mail
Parents:  Please read important information regarding the use of cellphones for team communication

As a program, coaches, players and parents, we need to communicate with each other, and from time to time we will send text messages regarding changes to practices, bus times, game locations or other important information to the teams.

This  information may go out during the school day.  All players have been told that they are not to use cell phones during the day.  All players have been instructed to keep cell phones put away in a safe location during the day. All players have been told to check for any messages at the end of the school day.

Our players are students first!!  There is no need to be texting or using their phones during the day.  Please make sure your daughter knows that using their cell phones during the school day is against school policy.

It does not matter who the text is from; it is against School Policy to be using your cell phones in school.
